Day 1: Meet your guide in Bridgeport, CA. Begin with a gear check. We will then head into the field and build our basecamp. We will cover all the skills of Winter camping and begin to touch on our technical systems.
Day 2: Today is our skills day. We will be working through steep skiing techniques, belayed skiing and rappelling, tour planning, time management and finding the good snow. The afternoon will be spent skiing an objective.
Day 3: We set out in the morning for our main objective. We will utilize the skills learned and you will be making decisions in the field. Your guide will be there to make sure everything is set up properly and the terrain and decisions align with the snowpack and skill level of the group.
Day 4: Day 4 is spent skiing a smaller objective or can be a complete skills day based on the groups fitness and understanding of the material covered. On this day we will take a deep dive into crevasse rescue. If you dream of exploring glaciated terrain on skis, crevasse rescue is a vital skill. In the afternoon we will ski back to the car and conclude the course.
